UAB Medical West - A.S.C./M.O.B.

This 5-story Medical Office Building works to improve the existing architectural language of the UAB Medical West campus, while its curved glass facade speaks of the medical advances housed within. The facility includes a 20,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center on the first floor. The remaining 4 floors are clinic and physician office space which includes a 10,000 sq. ft. VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic and a 15,000 sq. ft. End Stage Renal Disease Treatment Center. The A.S.C has 4 Class-B Operating Rooms and 2 Class-A Procedure Rooms, each within an array of new surgical technology. This A.S.C. was designed with patient and staff efficiency in mind. The 9 Pre-Operative Stations and 7 Post-Operative Anesthetic Care Stations are positioned back-to-back, with 2 Step-Down Recovery Bays. The A.S.C. has separate covered access and discharge points located directly adjacent to the Waiting Room and Recovery Areas to ensure efficient patient privacy and flow.
